Collective Worship and Daily Prayers
Collective Worship at Our Lady of Lourdes takes place every day and can take many forms; whole school assemblies, class prayers or class collective worship. Friends, families and parishioners are welcome to join us for our special services.
Each day begins and ends in prayer. Some of the prayers we say are listed below. The whole school gathers together every Monday to share the Gospel from Mass as well as pray for other special intentions. Parents and friends of the school join us on Fridays for our celebration assembly, where we celebrate the achievements of our pupils. Throughout the year each class leads us in class assemblies
Significant feast days are celebrated throughout the Liturgical year with 'Class Liturgies.' Holy Mass is celebrated in school to mark the beginning and end of the school year, during Lent and Advent and on the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes in February. On Holy days of Obligation, all children from Key Stage 2 will attend Mass in the Church.
The school has an active prayer life. During October, the month of the Holy Rosary, and during the Month of May, We invite children into school to pray the Rosary on Tuesday and Friday mornings in Prayer Corner of the library. During Lent and Advent daily prayers are led by teachers and pupils in the same location.
Families are encouraged to worship together at home. We send home the Wednesday Word each week.
Fr Martin & Fr Sean visit school regularly.
Catholic Life & Mission and Collective Worship Lead is Mrs Gait.

The Lords Prayer
Our Father,
Who art in heaven,
hallowed be Thy name;
Thy kingdom come;
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen
Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee;
blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.
Prayer for Our Lady of Lourdes
Lord of mercy,
as we keep the memory of Mary,
The Immaculate Mother of God,
Who appeared to Bernadette at Lourdes:
Grant us through her prayer
Strength in our weakness
And grace to follow the right path.
(We make our prayer) through the Lord
Amen
The Angelus Prayer
The Angelus
The Angel of the Lord declared to Mary:
And she conceived of the Holy Spirit.
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of
our death. Amen.
Behold the handmaid of the Lord: Be it done unto me according to Thy word.
Hail Mary...
And the Word was made Flesh: And dwelt among us.
Hail Mary...
Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
Let us pray:
Pour forth, we beseech Thee, O Lord, Thy grace into our hearts; that we, to whom the incarnation of Christ, Thy Son, was made known by the message of an angel, may by His Passion and Cross be brought to the glory of His Resurrection, through the same Christ Our Lord.
Amen.
Morning Offering
Morning Offering
O my God you love me,
You are with me night and day.
I want to love you always, in all I do and say.
I’ll try to please you father, bless me through the day.
Amen.
Prayer Before a Meal
Bless us O Lord as we sit together,
Bless the food we eat today,
Bless the hands that make the food,
Bless us O Lord.
Amen.
Closing Prayer
God our Father I come to say,
Thank you for your love today,
Thank you for my family
And all the friends you give to me,
Guard me in the dark of night,
And in the morning send your light.
Amen.
